The Story of the Mermaid of New York

Deep in the waters surrounding the island once called Mannahatta, there lives a mermaid named Marina. This is her story.

Long before the skyscrapers and subways, a young mermaid came to these waters and made them her home. She has watched the island transform from small villages to towers of glass and steel, and she has witnessed moments of frightening chaos as well as moments of inspiring courage. She has seen it all.  And through it all—through change, through loss, through the slow healing of time—Marina has kept a promise: to protect these waters from generation to generation, for all of time.

Blending fantasy with the real events that unfolded on these very waters, Marina of Manhattan is a lyrical tale for readers of all ages about change, loss, hope, and the power of a promise kept.
